Ben Covington

Covington had played banjo and rack harmonica within the roads of Birmingham, Alabama, USA, singing blues and hokum and, as his 1928 record brands indicate, pretending to be blind, though evidently without great conviction. His most startling quantity started: ‘I noticed the voice of the porkchop say, arrive unto me and rest’. He was an associate of the jug music group that included Joe Lee ‘Big Joe’ Williams, though it appears unlikely that was the Birmingham Jug Music group that documented in 1930. Covington was most likely the same guy as Ben Curry, who documented four paths in 1932.
