A versatile acoustic bassist/composer with an adventurous soul, Ben Allison has frequently excelled in jazz configurations but has leaned toward more eclectic rock and roll- and funk-oriented noises by himself albums. The East Coastline native was just nine when he began monitoring music, and he was 22 when, in 1989, he graduated from NY University having a B.A. in jazz overall performance.
