Bellini

Formed following the breakup of instrumental math rockers Don Caballero, Bellini united Don Cab drum virtuoso Damon Che using the husband-and-wife group of Agostino Tilotta (guitar) and Giovanna Cacciola (vocals), both formerly of Sicilian noise rockers Uzeda. Their particular former bands have been labelmates on Contact & Proceed, and Che and Tilotta experienced some jam classes under their belts before convening on Che’s Pa plantation with Cacciola and getting the official group in the summertime of 2001. Implementing their name from a traditional composer given birth to in Uzeda’s hometown of Catania, Bellini added bassist Matthew Taylor and quickly started playing concert events. Entering the studio room with Steve Albini, the music group recorded their 1st album, Snowing Sunlight, for the indie label Monitor; it had been released to reviews that are positive in 2002. An extended tour followed, where time friction between your notoriously hard Che as well as the various other bandmembers found a mind. Che still left the music group after a drunken on-stage tirade in Athens, GA. He came back home to Pa, where he produced a new edition of Don Caballero with associates of Creta Bourzia. The renaming associates of Bellini, on the other hand, changed Che with Young ladies Against Guys drummer Alexis Fleisig and completed the tour. This lineup of Bellini reconvened for 2005’s Little Rocks; Cacciola and Tilotta came back their focus on Uzeda for 2006’s Stella.
