Belcea Quartet

The Belcea Quartet is a youthful group from London, founded in the Royal University of Music in 1997. Its users are Corina Belcea 1st violin, Axel Schacher second violin, Kryzsztof Chorzelski viola, and Antoine Lederlin cello. After training for nearly 3 years using the Chilingirian Quartet, the Amadeus Quartet, and composer/violinist Simon Rowland-Jones, the Belcea continued to win worldwide string quartet contests in Osaka and Bordeaux during its 1st year in the general public vision. Through extra honors obtained and publicity received via the BBC, the Belcea Quartet arrived the positioning of in-house string quartet at Wigmore Hall in London (until 2006), with a comparable time agreed upon a recording agreement with EMI Classics. In 2011, it started a new group of recordings for Zig-Zag Territoires. The Belcea Quartet embarked on its initial tour of america in the 2005-2006 period.
