Guitarist/vocalist Edward Wilson “Bee” Houston’s a thrilling performer whose design blends components of Tx shuffle blues and Southern gospel-tinged spirit. Houston performed in a higher college drum and bugle corps as a young child in San Antonio, and performed in the support bands of Small Willie John, Junior Parker, Bobby “Blue” Bland among others in the past due ’50s and early ’60s. Following a two-year military stint, Houston shifted to the Western Coastline. He toured and documented regularly with Big Mama Thornton within the ’60s, and in addition accompanied several going to blues players during Western Coast appointments. Houston documented for Arhoolie within the ’60s and ’70s, and in addition made several event appearances and golf club dates.
