Bedemon

You can’t have more “cult metal” than Pentagram (in the end, the group didn’t have the ability to issue an effective studio album throughout their early-’70s maximum), but somehow, Bedemon manages to do this feat. Through the early ’70s, Pentagram bandmembers Bobby Liebling (vocals) and Geof O’Keefe (drums) had been asked from the group’s short second guitarist/horror film buff, Randy Palmer, if they’d be thinking about focusing on some materials that Palmer got penned. The set agreed, and documented a few paths with bassist Mike Matthews circa 1973 and 1974. The paths were not documented in an effective studio setting, but instead live at Pentagram’s rehearsal space, with Liebling overdubbing vocals and Palmer overdubbing solos. After just three tracks had been completed, “Kid of Darkness,” “Serpent Venom,” and “Frozen Dread,” Palmer officially became a member of up with Pentagram (assisting co-write among Pentagram’s best tracks, “Starlady”) before exiting immediately after, and O’Keefe pursuing suite a year or two afterwards. In 1979, Bedemon returned jointly to record three even more tracks, “Period Bomb,” “Nighttime Killer,” and “Axe to Grind,” and once again in 1986 (with Pentagram’s Greg Mayne acquiring Matthews’ spot within the lineup), when another Palmer structure was documented, “Nights the Demon,” in addition to several older music. In the next years, Palmer unwisely provided a copy from the Bedemon recordings to some Pentagram enthusiast, who then started selling bootlegs from the materials. With fascination with Pentagram surging in the first 21st hundred years (when a number of doom metal rings detailed the group as a significant impact), Bedemon reunited from the very clear blue in Apr 2002, and documented an hour’s worthy of of new materials. Sadly, Palmer passed away from injuries suffered from a car incident on August 8 of this year. Programs to eventually discharge the materials recorded quickly before Palmer’s loss of life shortly arose, with vocalist Craig Junghandel agreed upon on to assist. But prior to the 2002 periods had been released, the Italian metallic label Dark Widow released a compilation of the sooner Bedemon materials like a 15-monitor compilation in 2006, Kid of Darkness: From the initial Master Tapes.
