Acquiring their name from an LCD Soundsystem song and crafting a fusion of indie pop and electronic music that falls somewhere within the Drums and Daft Punk, Defeat Connection started as the task of University of Washington students Reed Juenger and Jordan Koplowitz. The set fulfilled as freshmen in 2008 and quickly started DJ’ing and composing songs collectively in GarageBand. In July 2010, they self-released their debut EP, Browse Noir, which presented vocals from folky vocalist/songwriter Tom Eddy within the songs “BIG SCREEN” — which became the band’s 1st solitary — and “In water.” The web response towards the EP led Moshi Moshi imprint Sensitive Age group to reissue it in Apr 2011; a couple of months later on, Beat Connection extended to add two live bandmembers, bassist Tag Hunter and drummer Jarred Katz. Eddy became the official person in the band with time to record their debut full-length, The Palace Backyard, which found its way to June 2012. After putting your signature on with Anti Information in 2015, Defeat Connection released their follow-up LP, Item 3, in nov that year.
