Los Angeles-based cosmic country-pop combo Beachwood Sparks were formed in mid-1998 by onetime Strictly Ballroom singer/guitarist Chris Gunst, glide guitarist/keyboardist Dave Scher, ex-Further bassist Brent Rademaker, and Lilys drummer Aaron Sperske. Motivated with the pioneering country-rock initiatives of West Coastline legends just like the Byrds, the Traveling Burrito Brothers, and Buffalo Springfield, the group released acclaimed singles for Bomp! (“Desert Skies”) and Sub Pop (“Midsummer Daydream”) before the springtime 2000 release of the outstanding self-titled debut LP. Their refined sophomore work, Once We Had been Trees, implemented in fall 2001. A calendar year later, the music group released the EP Make the Cowboy Robots Cry. Around once, Beachwood Sparks continued unofficial hiatus, where time the associates pursued various aspect tasks including Rademaker’s music group the Tyde, which also included Scher and Gunst sometimes, Scher’s FOREVER Radio, among others. In 2012, Beachwood Sparks reunited for the full-length work The Tarnished Silver. In 2013, the band’s previously unreleased debut record, Desert Skies, that their preliminary Bomp! singles had been culled, received the official pressing on Alive Naturalsound Information.
