b. Wasily Fomin, 1902, Kharkoff, Russia, d. 1983. Fomeen emigrated to the united states in 1922 settling in NEW YORK. Before getting into a career like a music group innovator, Fomeen, a talented composer with credits including ‘Manhattan Gypsy’, experienced performed his accordion with both Joe Moss and Meyer Davis. His personal orchestra was created in 1933 in NEW YORK, NY, USA, with a short engagement in the Savoy Plaza. Groomed like a ‘culture music group’, the group remained in the Savoy for just two years, just before transferring towards the St. Moritz.
