Barry Drake

A mediocre singer-songwriter, who recorded three forgettable albums in the early-1970s, Barry Drake has found his true getting in touch with being a lecturer on the annals of stone. Called “Campus lecturer of the entire year”, with the Natrional Association for Campus Actions, in 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000, and, by Campus Actions Newspaper, in 1994, 1995 and 1998, Drake provides thrilled university students with his stories of early rock and roll. Through the “folk scare” from the early-1960s, he performed nearly every evening in Greenwich Community coffeehouses, writing the stage with such performers as Richie Havens, Freddy Neil, Tim Hardin and Loudon Wainwright III. Relocating to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA in June 1967, Drake became a normal performer away Region coffeehouses, where such performers as Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, Nation Joe MacDonald, Jorma Kaukonen, Jack port Casady and David Grisman would frequently sit in. Time for the East Coastline, in Dec 1968, Blake resolved in the creative city of Woodstock, NY. Signing a documenting agreement with Capitol, he released his debut record, Happy Getting, in 1971. However, the getting was not content as the record failed to era much interest. His next record, Road Tune, released by himself label, Catskill Hill — did just like poorly. It got another 10 years before Drake released another record, Single Survivor, in 1982. Lecturing about stone since 1984, Drake provides conducted lectures for the music from the 1950s, 60s’, 70’s and 80s.
