Biography
Lead singer about “We Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight,” the only real hit by Fresh York-based the Tamerlanes in 1963, Barry de Vorzon has continued to create his existence felt like a maker and composer. His ratings have been noticed in such movies as Xanadu, Moving Thunder, Bless the Beasts and Kids, Private Benjamin, as well as the Ninth Construction. One tune, “Cotton’s Theme,” originally noticed in Bless the Beasts and Kids, was renamed “Nadia’s Theme” and obtained by Perry Botkin Jr. because the theme track of popular tv daytime serial The Youthful and the Restless. Folk-pop vocalist Melanie protected his tunes “Quit! I Don’t Need to listen to It Anymore” and “We HAVE NO IDEA Where We’re Heading” on her behalf 1971 album Backyard in the town. De Vorzon’s melody “It’s THE HOLIDAY SEASON in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA” has turned into a yuletide traditional. As an A&R guy for the Valiant record label, de Vorzon produced his best move when he authorized the Association towards the label and created their debut solitary, a pop edition of Bob Dylan’s “One WAY TOO MANY Mornings.” De Vorzon was a receiver of the Doris Day time Music Award from Ark Trust, Inc..

It originally appeared as "Cotton's Dream" in the film Bless the Beasts & Children (1971). Later, it was acquired by the creators of The Young and the Restless (1973) as the theme of the daytime soap opera. De Vorzon originally teamed with Botkin and two others, and formed the musical group Barry & the Tamerlanes in 1961. Their song "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight" hit #21 on the US pop charts in 1963. In 1983 a California jury awarded De Vorzon $241,000 in damages against A&M Records because it had failed to credit him as the co-writer of "Nadia's Theme" on first pressings of the single. |
