San Francisco-based drone duo Barn Owl follow in the footsteps of provocative avant-gardists Alice Coltrane and Keiji Haino, while building within the doom metallic foundation planted by Dark Sabbath. Guitarists Jon Porras and Evan Caminiti began playing music collectively soon after conference within an American Indian technology class at SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Condition in 2005 and recognizing they had related backgrounds playing in metallic rings and a distributed fascination with meditative, psychedelic music. Both made house recordings for the second option half from the 2000s while going after several side tasks. Barn Owl’s yr of fruition became 2010: aswell as beginning their personal label, Electric powered Totem, the music group released three albums — Conjurer on Rootstrata, Headlands on Essential Information, and Ancestral Celebrity after putting your signature on to Thrill Jockey. The music group held up its mind of vapor by touring internationally aswell as kicking off 2011 using the 24-minute Shadowland EP, that was documented by Phil Manley (Trans Am) in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, and following EP using the full-length Shed in the Glare through the summer of this year. In 2013 the duo came back with fifth correct record V, which extended their sound to add subtle drum devices and electronics.
