Barn Burner

Montreal’s Barn Burner possess only been dynamic for a couple of years, and also have but an individual CD with their name, but their mixture of steel, large blues, and choice rock and roll is fairly compelling. The quartet of vocalist/guitarist Kevin Keegan, guitarist Marc Doucette, bassist Nick Ball, and drummer Taylor Freund wind up a riff machine similar to classic Dark Sabbath or Deep Crimson, but with twin lead electric guitar lines that recall Thin Lizzy. In addition they draw from somewhat more modern affects, sounding a bit like fellow 2000s hard rock and roll/steel serves like Saviours, Priestess, and Early Guy, and which dash of choice rock and roll to their audio, especially in Keegan’s vocals, which sometimes appear to be Fugazi co-leader Man Picciotto. The group agreed upon to Metal Edge Records in ’09 2009 based exclusively on concert events and demos, having no prior produces. Their debut Compact disc, Bangers, premiered at the start of 2010.
