Inspired from the classic chansons of Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, and Léo Ferré as well as the lyrical wordplay and delivery from the Gallic hip-hop scene, Barcella is usually a charismatic singer/songwriter that has been instrumental in conserving the art of People from france slam poetry. Given birth to Mathieu Ladeveze in Reims in 1981, he 1st started composing his personal poems at a decade old, and after graduating from a instructor training course in the IUFM, he started to organize regular slam workshops for everyone. Performing beneath the guise of his mother’s Italian surname, he developed a status on both festival and tournament circuits, and after assisting famous brands Coeur de Pirate, Francis Cabrel, and Anis, released his debut recording, La Boîte ? Musique, this year 2010, that was adopted up by Charabia 2 yrs later.
