Barbara & The Uniques

An R&B vocal trio from Chicago, Illinois, USA, comprising sisters Barbara and Gwen Livsey, and Doris Lindsey. Barbara AS WELL AS THE Uniques were a group who arrived of Chicago through the latter area of the spirit era in the first 70s. The mainspring of the group was Barbara Livsey, who experienced earlier been an integral part of a duo with Mary-Francis Hayes known as the Duettes, who documented some regional strikes using the Chicago-based One-derful label in the middle-60s. From the past due 60s she acquired teamed up with her sister, Gwen, and produced some singles, among which, ‘Best On’, received some regional play in 1970. The duo added Doris Lindsey to be Barbara AS WELL AS THE Uniques. The addition of another tone of voice boosted their sound, and their ‘There It Runs Again’, compiled by Eugene Record from the Chi-lites, became a nationwide hit (no. 8 8 R&B) in early 1971. In 1974 the group started documenting for Chicago manufacturer Jimmy Vanleer, however the singles and one record that were released for the Los Angeles-based 20th Hundred years Information all failed. The group split up in 1975.
