Barbara Jay

b. England. We were young inside a jazz-loving family members, her dad playing trumpet in a variety of bands, Jay started singing as a kid. Through the 60s she sang numerous leading United kingdom jazz music artists, including Ronnie Scott, George Chisholm and Tommy Whittle. In 1970 she sang using the orchestra Benny Goodman led on an extended Western european tour. She also sang in NY, appearing on the Carnegie Tavern where she was associated with Ellis Larkins. Jay provides performed thoroughly on radio and tv in the united kingdom with many European celebrations including Great and Cork. She sings with a genuine, clear tone of voice, warmly interpreting the fantastic standards of the favorite and jazz repertoires. Her phrasing is certainly elegant and her diction outstanding. Consistently dealing with excellent British jazz music artists, she is wedded to Whittle with whom she frequently appears.
