Barak Schmool

b. 7 Feb 1969, London, Britain. Playing piano from extremely early child years, Schmool then discovered saxophone and created his own music group prior to going to London’s Royal Academy of Music in 1988. There, he analyzed saxophone and structure, later attending Town University or college. Subsequently, he also analyzed Western African dance drumming and Latin percussion. Among a number of important and long-term musical organizations continues to be Schmool’s admiration for Django Bates. Through the first 90s, he performed in Bates’ Delightful Precipice and documented with him on Wintertime Truce (And Homes Ablaze) in 1995 and on various other albums.
