Banda Senderos

Banda Senderos is a big intercontinental ensemble that cooks a hot music stew of contemporary cumbia, dancehall reggae, funky Afro-Latin jazz, bossa, and electronic dance-pop. Though located in Essen, Germany, its users hail from Congo, Chile, and European countries. Their lyrics are in German, Spanish, French, and British. Founded like a bossa, jazz, and pop trio in 2012 by Chilean vocalist/keyboardist Sebastián Campos, guitarist David Fiege, and drummer/percussionist Julian Kühn — both from Germany — by 2013, their rates experienced swelled to nine users. The existing lineup also contains Congo’s Dan Matweta (aka Dan Dark brown), bassist Pascal Wenske, keyboardist and live audio maker Jacek Brzozowski, tenor saxophonist Johannes Hartogh, trumpeter Dominik Ohlmann, and trombonist Jens Kolpatzik. That fall, the ensemble joined the studio room with suppliers Stefan Mohr and Ingo Schnorrenberg, growing using the EP Vagabundo. Its solitary, “Ay Nenita” was found by the favorite radio system Funkhaus Europa on Western German Broadcasting/WDR and resonated with listeners, revealing Banda Senderos’ audio to a broad European target audience.
