Banda Sabor de Veneno

The Banda Sabor de Veneno was Arrigo Barnabé’s virtuosic support group, in charge of the implementation of Barnabé’s peculiar vanguardist vision that employed Alban Berg compositional and harmonic principles over an extremely energetic Brazilian polyrhythmic foundation. Gilson Gibson, Otávio Fialho, Paulo Barnabé, and Regina Porto also participated along the way of composition, with their carrying out roles. Created in the past due ’70s in São Paulo like a vocal/instrumental group, the band’s 1st task was to backup Arrigo Barnabé on Clara Crocodilo’s recordings and concert events. Paulo Barnabé and Vânia Bastos would develop single careers following the band’s dissolution.
