Biography
Mexican 12-piece Banda Maguey started performing regional traditional music within their indigenous Villa Corona before overtaking Jalisco making use of their onda grupera design. In 1993, the music group, led by vocalist Ernesto Solano, registered to Fonovisa, producing their debut with Tumbando Caña, that was released in January 1994. They climbed regional charts using the paths “Corazón de Oro” and “Un Alacrán” and performed live for the very first time within the U.S. on, may 5, that same season. After issuing Un Mundo Gira, offering the hit one “Pero Te Amo,” Banda Maguey agreed upon a record cope with BMG U.S. Latin and documented Lágrimas de Sangre.
