Formed in america in 1973, Banana AS WELL AS THE Number comprised Lowell ‘Banana’ Levinger (b. 1946, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA; keyboards), Michael Kane (bass) and Joe Bauer (b. 26 Sept 1941, Memphis, Tennessee, USA; drums), each of whom had been concurrently members from the Youngbloods. Documented as the mother or father band was going to expire, Mid-Mountain Ranch was a relaxing collection, mixing bluegrass and folk with substantial joie de vivre. The trio also followed Bauer on his single recording, Moonset, and later on documented an avant garde arranged, Crab Tunes, beneath the name Noggins. Both after that retired from energetic music; Levinger managed a hang-gliding business, Kane became a green-keeper, while Bauer built houses.
