Bailter Space

Led by former Gordons guitarist Alister Parker, noises rock and roll unit Bailter Space surfaced from Christchurch, New Zealand in 1987. Originally made up of previous Clean and Great Unwashed drummer Hamish Kilgour, Pin Group alum Ross Humphries on bass, and Glenda Expenses on drums, the group released its debut EP, Nelsh, for the famed Traveling Nun label afterwards that season; both Humphries and Expenses departed immediately after, leading to the addition of previous Gordons bassist John Halvorsen with time to record the 1988 full-length Tanker. A tour implemented, however when the Clean re-formed, Kilgour became a member of them on the long lasting basis; his substitute in Bailter Space was Brent McLachlan, also the drummer within the Gordons. Regardless of the restoration from the Gordons’ primary roster, nevertheless, Bailter Space had been a clearly specific entity, their audio more thick and imposing than within their prior incarnation; the trio resurfaced in 1990 with Thermos, mounting a tour from the North Hemisphere the next season. An EP, DESIRE TO, made an appearance in 1992, and in 1993 Bailter Space released Automatic robot Globe, their most acclaimed outing up to now. Their prolific result continuing with Vortura (1994) and Wammo (1995) and slowed down going back fifty percent of the 10 years, where the group released two albums for the Turnbuckle label: Capsul (1997) and Solar.3 (1999). In 2004, throughout a protracted hiatus, Traveling Nun released a self-titled compilation. Eight years handed before the music group released another record, Strobosphere (Arch Hill, 2012), accompanied by Trinine on Great Britain’s Fireplace Information label in Oct of 2013.
