Bahamas

Bahamas may be the single task of Toronto-based guitarist and music gun-for-hire Afie Jurvanen. Having a thoroughly trained hearing for melody that he’s honed during his period playing with famous brands Feist and Howie Beck, Jurvanen’s single project includes a stripped-down and contemplative audio that targets doing even more with less, permitting his tone of voice and guitar to accomplish a lot of the weighty raising on his calm indie folk meditations. Bahamas produced its recording debut in ’09 2009 with Red Strat, that was nominated to get a Juno Award the next year. After liberating the recording, Jurvanen lay out on tour to get alt-country symbols Wilco before ultimately striking from his own having a headlining tour. The guitarist came back in 2012 along with his follow-up recording, Barchords. In 2014, Jurvanen shipped the 3rd Bahamas studio recording, Bahamas Can be Afie, which presented a ’70s smooth country-influenced vibe.
