Bad Medicine

Blue-eyed funk combo Poor Medicine shaped in Syracuse, NY about Halloween, 1968. Guitarist/keyboardist Tom Corradino, guitarist Harry Rado, bassist Greg Johnson, and drummer Richard Clarke comprised the initial lineup, with saxophonist David Morton putting your signature on on immediately after. (Numerous singers, percussionists, and extra players briefly exceeded through the rates within the years to check out, included in this vocalist Michelle Sobers, whom Poor Medicine supported on many singles for Arthur Lane’s Enyx Information label, included in this “Once the Battle HAS ENDED.”) Having a active live collection that comprised initial material, addresses of modern R&B strikes by famous brands James Brown as well as the Ohio Players, and blues classics popularized by Junior Wells and Howlin’ Wolf, Poor Medicine developed a devout lover following over the central NY region, opening for everybody from Muddy Waters to Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Tires. In 1970, the music group released its debut solitary, “She’s Used All My Cash,” on the neighborhood Orbit label, and after putting your signature on to Enyx in 1974, Poor Medicine documented the Lane-penned “Trespasser” — a modern-day cult traditional because of its inclusion around the Rocks Throw label’s important Funky 16 Edges compilation; this sinister instrumental was a local strike but didn’t capture on nationally. Poor Medication essentially dissolved the next 12 months after Corradino was significantly injured within an automobile accident. More than a decade later on, he reunited with Rado and Clarke within the Washington, D.C.-centered zydeco outfit Small Reddish & the Renegades.
