With a news release announcing them as “a locomotive libido down a trail of tears,” LA quintet Babes provide a playful front because of their lonesome, dreamy indie pop. Fronted by siblings Aaron (electric guitar, vocals), Zach (electric guitar), and Sarah Rayne Leigh (vocals, synths), along with close friends Bryan Harris (bass) and Jeffrey Baird (drums), Babes certainly are a close-knit group using a quirky love of life (they keep their very own hotline:470-BABES-77) and an enthusiastic pop feeling that mixes moody melancholia and shimmering sensuality. After putting your signature on with Capitol imprint Harvest Information, they released their self-titled debut EP in 2014. Their initial record, also untitled, found its way to past due 2015 via Seattle indie Barsuk Information.
