Baba

Baba is a fresh York-based MC and hip-hop philosopher. Created and elevated in Manhattan, Baba’s Russian/Jewish parents had been members from the Living Theatre, an avant-garde overall performance collective which used to stage theatre events in locations as disparate or improbable as a plantation, street part, or jail. The youthful Baba even resided for a while in Australia, where his mom was created. Baba channeled the cross-cultural places and noises of his youngsters into his artwork, and started to make a name for himself in NEW YORK like a “mindful” rapper. Velour Information took see, and in 2001 released Brain Music, Baba’s full-length debut. A bouillabaisse of downtown jazz, didgeridoo, and straight-up NEW YORK hip-hop textures, Brain Music was anchored by Baba’s deep, singsongy circulation, and suggested affects just like a Tribe Called Mission and KRS-One. Velour released Big UP and ALLOW IT Sparkle as singles, and in summer time of this same year, Brain Music was found for wider launch.
