B.R. Deodhar

Touted as the first music author of Hindi film music and popularly known from the moniker “Teacher”, B.R. Deodhar began composing first like a theatrical designer an,d because of the early convergence of theatre using the silent period of films, Deodhar was very easily absorbed from the film market. Becoming the disciple of Pundit Vishnu Digambar Pulaskar, Deodhar was experienced in Hindustani traditional music aswell as Traditional western music. He 1st started performing in the design of Abdul Karim Khan in the roads before pressing Vishnu Pulaskar. Like a respected singer, music instructor, article writer, and musicologist, he founded a music college in Bombay in 1929. Between 1930 and 1943, B.R. Deodhar made up music for about ten movies including Heer Ranjha, Sasi Punnu, Shikari, Patit Pavan, Zehre Ishq, Masterji, Madari, Mohan, and Neela.
