Ayub Ogada

Ayub Ogada’s lifestyle is a perfect demonstration from the miracles of cultural collision; the contact with both traditional African and contemporary Traditional western values supplied a rich track record which he founded his exclusive musical abilities. Ogada is among the Luo folks of Traditional western Kenya, and he received his initial exposure to Traditional western culture in early stages. When he was six, his parents (also music artists), toured the faculty circuit within the U.S. Ogada after that came back to Kenya along with his parents, and was informed within a Catholic college, after that an British boarding college. After finishing college, he played for quite some time within a Kenyan group known as African Heritage Music group, which fused traditional music using the noises of rock and roll and spirit that Ogada and bandmates noticed regularly on the air. In 1986, he made a decision to consider his talents overseas. Armed along with his nyatiti (a lyre-like stringed device), he visited the U.K., and performed on the roads for money. Following the better section of per year, he was contacted and asked to try out at Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD celebration. In 1993, he was asked to Gabriel’s Realworld Studios, where he documented his first record, En Mane Kuoyo (Simply Fine sand). He is constantly on the tour thoroughly with WOMAD.
