Biography
Folk-soul chanteuse Ayọ emerged as you of Europe’s biggest brand-new pop famous actors of 2006 with her discovery debut LP, Joyful. Delivered to some Nigerian dad and gypsy mom in Cologne, Western world Germany, on Sept 14, 1980, as a kid Ayọ consumed the musical customs of her parentage in addition to affects including American spirit, reggae, and Afrobeat, all staples of her father’s intensive record collection. Ayọ initial researched violin before shifting to piano and electric guitar. At 21 she relocated to London, afterwards dividing her time taken between Paris and NEW YORK and earning interest while starting for neo-soul kindred spirits including Omar and Cody Chestnutt. After documenting a five-song demonstration reel, Ayọ briefly receded through the live circuit in past due 2005 to provide delivery to her initial child. Early the next year she agreed upon to Polydor, with manufacturer Jay Newland finished Joyful (the British translation of her Yoruba name) in only five times. Buoyed with the business lead one “Down on My Legs,” the record fell just timid from the German TOP. In 2008, Ayọ chosen the Bahamas to record her sophomore record, Gravity finally. Produced once more by Jay Newland and once again recorded in only five times, the album continued to reach the main i’m all over this the French recording charts. 2011 noticed the discharge of her third recording. Called after her child, Billie-Eve was once more documented in five times by using rapper Saul Williams and Lenny Kravitz collaborator Craig Ross.
