It may appear to be an exotic Italian topping for your pizza, but, actually, Avichi may be the music group moniker of one-man dark metal wrecking team Aamonael — cursed denizen of darkest Dekalb, IL. Regardless of the obvious discomforts of his hooded dark cloak, Aamonael still were able to deal with all tools and vocals when documenting Avichi’s world-eating 1st opus, 2007’s The Divine Tragedy (searching and then Matt “Xaphar” Stop to supply hellfire percussion). All kidding apart, the album consists of commendably high-caliber American dark metallic, and bodes well for Avichi’s potential.
