Minneapolis local Austin Plaine writes country-tinged folk-pop, taking motivation from performers like Ryan Adams, Elliott Smith, and fellow Midwesterners Bob Dylan and Bright Eye. After going to Nashville in 2013, he started focusing on the tunes that would ultimately become his self-titled debut recording. Originally released through a Noisetrade marketing campaign, his visibility improved when one of is own tunes was put into a Mastercard industrial. Plaine soon authorized with Razor & Tie up imprint Washington Square, who offered his debut an effective launch in 2015.
