August Kühnel

Kuhnel performed for the viola da gamba. He was among the leading players upon the device and a formidable composer for the device. His magazines included a couple of sonatas for the viola da gamba including six sonatas for just two gambas and eight sonatas for just one gamba. All the compositions included a continuo component. At various occasions throughout his existence Kuhnel performed for the courtroom chapel of Zeitz with a number of breaks. He performed in Munich, Frankfurt am Primary, London, Darmstadt and Weimar.
