Biography
Sound Karate comprised child years close friends from Rosemead, CA: vocalist/guitarist Artwork Barrios, bassist/vocalist Justo Gonzalez, drummer Gabriel Camacho and guitarist Jason Camacho (those last two getting cousins). Each of them bonded more than a distributed like of both ’80s skatepunk and ’70s metallic, and in-may 2002, released their debut of furiously catchy SoCal pop-punk via Kung Fu Information entitled Space Camp. Tour times with acts just like the Ataris, Tsunami Bomb as well as the Vandals adopted, as do a stretch around the 2004 Warped Tour. Sound Karate’s Warped appearance was well timed, coinciding using the June launch of the matured (and incredibly well-received) follow-up, Woman Melody, that was produced by Expenses Stevenson (Descendents, ALL, etc). Even more touring was finished before the men announced at year’s end that they might be going for a “holiday” for an undisclosed timeframe. Sound Karate resurfaced within the springtime of 2006 using the notice that these were working on a fresh album, furthermore to composing the rating and soundtrack — music very much unique of their past attempts — for speaking spanish impartial film, Maquillaje. For the time being, Jason Camacho experienced also opened up his own studio room Lady Melody, called following the band’s 2004 recording.
