Delivered in 1974, Aubrey Haynie provides wasted virtually no time in establishing himself among the most talented fiddle and mandolin players in modern nation music. Haynie continues to be perhaps one of the most sought after program players in Nashville, having made an appearance on produces by George Jones, Porter Wagoner, Trisha Yearwood, and Bryan Light among others, with tours within the rings of Aaron Tippin and Clint Dark cushioning his resumé, aswell. Comfortable in a number of traditional musical styles, from bluegrass and nation to more golf swing and jazz-oriented designs, Haynie has attracted comparisons to golf swing and bluegrass fiddler Chubby Smart, who offered as something of the coach to Haynie in his youngsters, and accolades from Ricky Skaggs, who added vocals on Haynie’s debut. 1997’s Doin’ My Period — a fantastic mixture of traditionals, addresses, and first instrumentals blended with the casual vocal monitor — was well-received within the bluegrass community and netted Haynie a nomination in the International Bluegrass Music Association for Instrumental Record of the entire year.
