Atrophy

Initially referred to as Heresy, Tucson, AZ’s Atrophy was formed in 1986 and featured vocalist Brian Zimmerman, guitarists Chris Lykins and Rick Skowron, bassist James Gulotta, and drummer Tim Kelly. Modeled around the high-precision thrash metallic quintets prowling the Bay Region a few a huge selection of miles towards the north (Exodus, Vio-Lence, etc.), Atrophy just recorded several albums for Roadrunner Information and both 1988’s Socialized Hate and 1990’s Violent naturally offered competently carried out but fairly unoriginal (er, atrophied?) thrash metallic.
