Atoll

The French exact carbon copy of prog-rock rings Yes and Genesis, Atoll recorded four albums in the mid- to later ’70s using a lineup that stabilized by enough time from the group’s second album. L’Araignee Mal (1975) included vocalist/percussionist André Balzer, guitarist Christian Beya, bassist Jean-Luc Thillot, key pad participant Michel Taillet, and drummer Alain Gozzo. Steadily commercializing its audio you start with third record Tertio, Atoll released only 1 more studio record (and also a compilation) before splitting up. In the past due ’80s, however, a fresh, pop-oriented version made an appearance. Including just Beya from the prior lineup, the music group released L’Ocean as well as the live recording Tokyo C’est Fini (both 1989).
