Astreal

Astreal certainly are a female-fronted shoegaze music group located in Singapore. Created in 1992 as Breed of dog, the music group was originally made up of Pagit Yong (vocals), Muhammad Alkhatib (acoustic guitar), William de Silva (bass), and Alwyn Lim (drums). This lineup documented a few demonstration cassettes (Dive Gemma, Chlorine Explosion) before Yong departed in 1994. Once fresh vocalist Melissa Lim was recruited, the music group transformed its name to Astreal in 1996 and proceeded to record the full-length recording debut Ouijablush (1997). In following years the band’s lineup underwent additional changes. The thoroughly reconfigured lineup of Ginette Chittick (vocals, bass), Muhammad Alkhatib (acoustic guitar), Nick Chan (acoustic guitar), and Redzuan Hussin (drums) documented the next Astreal recording, Fragments from the Same Dead Celebrity (2006).
