Astral Project

This New Orleans-based improvisational jazz group formed in 1978. Led by saxophonist Toni Dagradi, this quintet also contains pianist David Torkanowski, guitarist Steve Masakowski, bassist Wayne Singleton, and John Vidacovich. The group’s five items can also type different duos, trios, and quartets with regards to the needs from the tracks Astral Task performs. Likewise, each person in the group pursues his personal solo and part projects but results to Astral Task as home foundation. Musically, Astral Task is simply as versatile — the consequence of improvising collectively for over 2 decades. Through the early ’80s, fellow jazz designer Bobby McFerrin was a presented area of the group’s shows. Throughout their profession, Astral Project offers comfortably combined different varieties of jazz, rock and roll, world, and traditional music to their own fluid audio on three albums: the right now out of printing Dreams of Like, 1998’s Elevado, and 1999’s Voodoo Bop.
