The earthy Christian rocker Ashley Cleveland began her career through the mid-’80s like a Nashville session vocalist, singing on more than 200 records before cutting her own demonstration tape with drummer/producer Craig Krampf. The documenting received her a agreement with Atlantic, and in 1991, Cleveland released her debut recording Big City. She relocated to the Reunion label for 1993’s Bus Called Desire; for Lesson of Like, issued 2 yrs later, she gained her 1st Grammy Award.
