Kentucky-born, Oregon-based singer/songwriter Ashleigh Flynn’s twangy tunes are rooted in the type of Americana-tinged folk that nods to performers like Devon Sproule and Gillian Welch. Her self-titled debut full-length premiered on House Perm Recordings in 1999. Two even more albums followed during the period of another seven years: 2002’s Chokecherry and 2005’s Sneakin’ Out with Ashleigh Flynn. When she wasn’t in the studio room laying down monitors, she was on the highway, executing at high-profile celebrations like Bumbershoot, SXSW, and Bonnaroo, not forgetting a dozen roughly regional folk celebrations. She snagged many songwriting awards during this time period, and toured the Western world Coast with performers like Nanci Griffith and Willy Porter. Her 4th studio room full-length, American Wish, hit shops in early 2008.
