Artur Pizarro

Portuguese pianist Artur Pizarro was a kid prodigy, giving his initial performance at age three on the Lisbon Conservatory. He researched piano with Campos Coelho and Sequeira Costa, and shifted to america in 1977 to keep his research with Costa. Pizarro also researched with Aldo Ciccolini. Pizarro resumed open public performances at age group 13, offering a single recital on the São Luíz Theater in Lisbon, and executing a concerto using the Gulbenkian Orchestra. Pizarro may be the champion of several tournaments, like the Vianna da Motta Competition in 1987, the higher Palm Seaside Symphony Competition in 1988, as well as the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition in 1990. Pizarro’s profession has used him all over the world being a concerto soloist, though he’s also a devoted chamber musician, using violinist Raphaël Oleg and cellist Josephine Knight in the Pizarro Trio, and he provides performed in piano duos with Vita Panomariovaite and Rinaldo Zhok. This year 2010, to celebrate Frédéric Chopin’s bicentennial, he performed the entire functions at St. John’s Smith Square, London.
