Arnolt Schlick

This German organist and organ expert was far traveled throughout Germany and the reduced Countries. He most likely originated from Heidelberg, performed for Maximilian I’s election, journeyed to holland, Strasbourg, Worms, Hagebau, Speyer, Torgau, Neustadt an der Haardt, and perhaps Aachen. Of all of these moves he had been consulted about organs, the building from the organs, maintenance, improvements and placements thereof. Of these moves he also received an eternity visit through the palatine courtroom. Three important functions were created and released by this talented contrapuntist who was simply blind. Initial was his “Spiegel der Orgelmacher und Organisten” of 1511 that was the 1st released German discourse on body organ building and body organ playing. Schlick following published a few of his personal functions in the “Tabulaturen etlicher lobgesang” that was the 1st German publication of body organ tablatures. This is released in 1512. His chorale, “Ascendo advertisement Patrem” (1520/21) was obtained for ten parts and relating to Schlick could possibly be performed within the body organ, six parts within the guides and four parts within the pedals. This music isn’t just unique but much before its amount of time in contrapuntal abilities preceding any point comparable by years and obviously demarcates Schlick as an enthusiastic contrapuntal designer and organist.
