Arnaldo Antunes

An important author of Brazilian pop/rock and roll who was simply the unofficial leader from the Titãs, Arnaldo Antunes had a lot of his music recorded by Marisa Monte, Jorge Ben Jor, yet others. He is an internationally celebrated poet. In the past due ’70s, Antunes was an associate of the group Aguilar e Banda Performática, which documented an unbiased LP. Soon soon after, he became a member of an octet known as Titãs perform Iê-iê. The music group opened up in August 1982 in the choice Teatro da Lira Paulistana (São Paulo), where in fact the vanguarda paulista motion was born for the reason that period. In 1988, Antunes participated in Golpe de Estado’s LP Golpe de Estado. In 1993, he released the record/reserve/video Nome, accompanied by Ninguém (1995), O Silêncio (1996), and Um Som (1998). Among the countless interpreters who’ve been documenting his music are Marisa Monte (amongst others, “Beija European union,” “Volte Em fun??o de o Seu Lar,” “Alta Noite,” “Bem Leve,” and “De Mais Ninguém,” the final two together with the vocalist), Jorge Ben Jor (“Cabelo”), Gilberto Gil (“A Ciência em Si”), Rita Lee (“O Que Você Quer”), and Ney Matogrosso (“Comida”). Arnaldo Antunes is certainly a celebrated name in Brazilian modern poetry, and his functions have been contained in worldwide compilations. In 1997, he released the reserve Dois Ou + Corpos Simply no Mesmo Espaço. In 1999, he composed the soundtrack towards the dance present “O Corpo” (released on Compact disc in 2000) with the band of the same name.
