Arcadian Academy

The Arcadian Academy is a chamber music ensemble founded and directed by conductor and harpsichordist Nicholas McGegan. It requires its name and motivation from the initial association founded in Rome in 1690, that was several artists, music artists, and writers focused on the reform of Italian lifestyle. The modern-day Arcadian Academy can be a period device ensemble composed of people from San Francisco’s Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra. The group frequently tours america and European countries and has earned several awards because of its recordings. Its debut documenting for Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Scarlatti Cantatas with soprano Christine Brandes, was called Recording from the Month by Gramophone mag.
