Created in 1997 in the Catalan region of Spain, Antònia Font had been led — therefore — by guitarist and composer Joan Miquel Oliver, who concentrated the band’s direction by restricting the lyrics not merely by subject material (the near future, robots, etc.) but also by dialect, choosing to create in the indigenous dialect of Catalan particular to Majorca, where in fact the band offers its real origins. Their first recording, Antònia Font, premiered in 1999. Despite several lineup adjustments, the band offers continuing unabated, and by 2010 experienced released five even more full-lengths. Antònia Font’s 2007 LP, Coser i Cantar, highlighted an orchestra.
