A diverse selection of jazz influences have provided a foundation for the music of Modena, Italy-born pianist/vocalist Antonella Dini. Furthermore to leading a post-bop group, the Antonella Dini Quartet, offering vibraphonist Bryan Carrott, dual bassist Darryl Hall, and drummer Ian Froman, Dini proceeds to execute with percussionist Waltinho Anastacio, bassist Nilson Matta, guitarist Freddie Bryant, saxophonist Bob Franceschini, and Carrott in the Brazilian jazz group the Umbigada Music group. He in addition has recorded using the Italian music group Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso. Hailing from a family group of music artists and sculptors, Dini gained a qualification in music theory and solfeggio from your Orazio Vecchi Conservatory in Modena. Quickly learning piano with Daniela Morelli in the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, Dini gained a fifth-year diploma in the Licinio Refice Conservatory in Frosinone. Dini also went to the Testaccio and Ciak Universities as well as the American College, located in Umbia, through the Berklee College Jazz Event from 1986-1988. Shifting to NY in 1989, Dini went to the New College, where he analyzed with Bernard “Fairly” Purdie, Andy Bey, Billy Harper, Ron Carter, Reggie Workman, and vocalist Sheila Jordan. He graduated from New York’s Town College having a level in jazz vocal overall performance.
