Antithesis

Produced in 1997 by Ty Make (vocals), Sean Perry (guitar/vocals), Paul Konjicija (guitar), Adam Lewis (bass), and Paul Kostyack (drums), Cleveland’s Antithesis mixes components of progressive and power steel without heading overboard into either category. Quite simply, although technically complicated and intensely melodic, neither from the band’s two albums so far, 2000’s Antithesis (offering short-term guitarist Tom Guignette) and 2001’s Dying forever received to instrumental overindulgence or cheesy steel anthems. Rumors from the band’s feasible Christian affiliations — hinted at by their sometimes religious lyrics — stay unconfirmed.
