Anti-Nowhere League

Even though judged from the frequently confrontational specifications of U.K. punk, the Anti-Nowhere Little league were a music group focused on offending people. Searching less just like a band of bohemian rebels than a particularly unsavory biker gang wanting to stomp somebody (frontman Pet admits to being truly a former person in outlaw motorcycle night clubs), the Anti-Nowhere Little league produced an immediate influence if they burst onto the United kingdom rock picture in 1980. In 1981, Bone fragments still left the group, and Gooky Hopper was a short-term substitute until PJ (aka Persian John, blessed Djahanshah Aghssa) emerged aboard on drums, solidifying the Anti-Nowhere League’s first definitive lineup. After touring with main second-wave U.K. punk works like the Exploited, Discharge, and Chron Gen, the group arrived a cope with United kingdom punk label WXYZ Information. The ANL’s debut one was a punked-up cover of Ralph McTell’s “Roads of London,” nonetheless it was the B-side that got a lot of the interest. “JUST WHAT EXACTLY” was a three-minute torrent of four-letter phrases and grotesque intimate boasts which was bad enough that certain pressing was confiscated in the distributor’s warehouse with the Metropolitan Police’s Obscene Publication Squad.
