Antagonist

Although these were 1st formed in 1998 by siblings Carlos (vocals/guitar) and Lond Garcia (drums), Wittier, CA’s Antagonist languished in unsigned obscurity for near ten years before their effort finally started to pay dividends within the neighborhood metallic and hardcore scene. At that time, the Garcias, second guitarist Matt Lopez (who became a member of in 2001), and bassist/support vocalist Paul Salem (with them since 2003), experienced independently documented and released a trio of EPs (2003’s Designed to Harm or Wound, 2004’s Eschatology, 2005’s Samsara), and a set of albums (2005’s Architects of Discord advertisement 2006’s An Envy of Innocence). The final of these captured the ears of Prosthetic Information with its well-known make of melodic deathcore (believe: Killswitch Engage, Caliban, etc.), producing a agreement that spawned Antagonist’s third full-length, Exist, in fall 2008.
