Anson Weeks & His Orchestra

b. 14 Feb 1896, Oakland, California, USA, d. 7 Feb 1969, Sacramento, California, USA. Weeks started leading a dance music group in the middle-20s and attained great reputation in 1928 during an engagement on the Tag Hopkins Resort in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. Thereafter, he proved helpful at lots of the greatest hotels in NY, Chicago and New Orleans, presenting the music group with his very own composition, ‘I’m Composing You This Small Melody’, as well as the slogan ‘Dancin’ with Anson’. The musical plan he controlled was geared totally for dance and he was generally indifferent to transferring vogues like the golf swing era. One of the music artists who played within the music group was Xaviar Cugat, while his performers included Bob Crosby and Tony Martin. Weeks continuing to business lead his music group with the 50s and 60s, still blithely overlooking musical fads and fancies, and was still functioning when he passed away in Sacramento.
